WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38WCF. Antique standard grade rifle with 24″ oct. bbl, full magazine, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. Bbl has half-nickel front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum yellow sheet identifying this rifle with shipment date of September 19, 1894. SN 32440. CONDITION: Very good, plus. Bbl retains about 95% original blue turning plum. Magazine tube retains 95-96% strong original blue. Receiver retains about 85% thinning bright original blue with striation marks down both sides. Lever and hammer retain 30-40% case colors with the balance turning silver. Wood is sound with the forearm retaining about 50% original varnish and the buttstock, about 90%. Bright shiny bore with some scattered fine pitting. 4-47007 JR408 (2,600-3,500)
