WINCHESTER 1ST MODEL 1873 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44WCF. Standard carbine with 20″ round bbl, full magazine, 1st Model front magazine band with integral pinched front sight, flip 2-position rear sight, mortised impressed thumbprint dust cover, staple and ring left side of the receiver, uncheckered wood with straight stock and carbine buttplate with sliding trap. SN 17080. CONDITION: Good. Bbl is mostly a silver-brown patina with darker spots and traces of blue in the sheltered areas and some minor nicks about mid-point. Receiver retains 15-20% original blue in sheltered areas with the balance a silver-blue-brown patina. Wood is sound with a small fill spot on the left side of the forearm, several small nicks and gouges on the buttstock and retains most of a fine old hand-rubbed patina.
