*SCARCE BROWNING BSS “GRADE DLX” PROTOTYPE.SN 6004A72. Cal. 12 Ga. 26″ bbls. 2-3/4″ chambers. Choked: IMP CYL/MOD. Full length matted rib with steel front bead. Gold plated single selective trigger, automatic ejectors, automatic safety. Full knob pistol grip stock checkered in 3-point pattern with 14-1/4″ LOP over Browning black plastic buttplate. Beavertail forend with Deeley release, checkered in fancy 3-point pattern with curved edges on sides of opener and bottom. Scroll engraved on sides and bottom with border patterns throughout. Fancier and more coverage than what is normally found on a Grade 1. According to consignor’s notes, this gun is a prototype for the Deluxe Grade. Comes with orig shipping box, end label marked “Spec Eng” along with other information identifying this gun. Weight: 7 lb 6 oz. PROVENANCE: The Estate of B.E. “Andy” Anderson. CONDITION: Extremely fine, near new. Bbls, receiver, trigger guard and forearm retain nearly all their orig factory finishes. Buttstock and forend are near mint with orig high gloss finish and light handling marks. Mechanics are excellent. Brilliant shiny bore.
