FIRST YEAR PRODUCTION WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 38-55. Standard grade rifle with 26″ oct. bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight, semi-buckhorn rear sight, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. SN 7028. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains about 90% original blue, slightly thinned over the chamber area and with a cleaned spot just behind the front sight. Strong and bright in sheltered areas. Mag tube is a thin blue patina. Wood is sound, with a gouge on the forearm, and appears to have been lightly sanded. Lever and hammer retain about 50% dark case colors.
