WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 SPECIAL ORDER LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. Standard grade rifle with oct. to round 26″ bbl, full magazine, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. Front sight is half-nickel with 1886-style ladder bbl sight and a locking Lyman tang sight. The buttstock is very nicely figured throughout. Accompanied by an RCBS reloading die. SN 103650. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and mag tube retain 92-93% strong bright blue on bbl turning plum on the mag tube. Receiver retains 40-50% faded case colors, stronger in sheltered areas with the balance turned silver. Foreend cap retains traces of case colors with the balance silver and the buttplate is silver patina. Lever retains 10-15% case colors and the hammer about 75% dark colors.
