*WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32-40. Standard grade rifle with 26″ oct. bbl, full magazine, standard front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight with tiny elevator screw in the standing blade and patent dates on the flat. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle as having been shipped December 11th, 1902. SN 165264. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl retains 95-97% original blue with edge wear and some thinning along the top and side flats. Magazine tube retains about 98% strong bright original blue. Receiver retains 94-96% original finish, strong and bright on the sides and top, thinning and slightly browned on the bottom front edge with some minor, very fine, very light freckling on the left side with two spots of rust and a couple of slightly battered screws. Lever and hammer retain 50-60% bright case colors with the balance turning silver. Buttplate has traces of case color being mostly a silver-brown patina. Wood is fine and retains most of a professionally restored finish. Bright shiny bore. 4-47024 JR373 (2,250-3,250)
