SALESMAN SAMPLE OR SCALE FEDERAL BUTLER SECRETARY.Circa 1920. This piece of furniture may look like just a bookcase at first, but when the large center piece of wood is opened under the glass bookcase, one can see the interior of a desk with its many cubby holes and document drawers. The recessed glass cabinet has decorative wood mullions that open in two sections to expose three shelves which could be used for books, dishes or trinkets. The cabinet below has a symmetrical design of drawers and cabinet doors. It is a magnificent piece of furniture with fine detail. The beautiful light satinwood inlay adds to the superb quality of the desk. SIZE: 18-1/4″ h x 9-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: Ex-Beverly Darling Collection.
