GROUP OF NINE CIVIL WAR AND INDIAN WAR CARTRIDGE POUCHES.Lot includes 2 Civil War cap pouches, one is inspected and maker marked. Cartridge box has “CSA” box plate which is post war but box is Civil War complete with 2 tins. The remainder is a variety of U.S. embossed boxes 1870-1890, several with arsenal marks in black and brown leather. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Indian War boxes are very good overall, apparently all complete with tabs retaining most of their finish though scuffed and crazed. 1 Civil War cap box complete, well discerned markings with finish chipping on tab and edges, other box has inner flap removed and wood block inserted for cartridges. Civil War cartridge box is fair missing 1 roller buckle and other roller buckle barely held, much crazing and loss of finish, tab is weak. 49973-346 JS (700-1,200) – Lot 1523
