EDISON OPERA PHONOGRAPH.

Very nice original phonograph in mahogany case with mahogany wood horn. Metal parts are copper oxide finished including very nice Victorian handles on each end of case and crank. Metal gooseneck for horn enables horn to be pivoted in any direction you like, with very nice original decals on horn. Has a very fine condition Model L reproducer. Phonograph plays 4-minute records only. Has fancy gold pinstriping and corner scrolls on bed plate. Machine appears absolutely complete. Case has heavy molding around base, rounded columns at each corner and heavy molding around motor board. Lid has nice heavy molding on rounded top. SIZE: 18″ w x 13″ d x 14″ h. Horn is 24″ l x 21″ dia. CONDITION: Mahogany finish on case and horn is original with minor crazing & very few scratches; horn has three separations of glue joints, one poorly repaired; wood graining on gooseneck in poor condition, as is typical; case as noted above, with three minor abrasions to wood & finish on back of motor board; finish on lid has a few scratches & is flaking away a little; finish on back portion of bed plate has some chipping & some wear on gold pinstriping. 1-14375 (1,200-1,500) – Lot 1515
