COIN-OPERATED COLUMBIA “BS” MODEL GRAPHOPHONE.Oak case on brass feet with side hinged curved glass front revealing a cylinder record player. Manufactured by the American Phonograph Company for the American Graphophone company of New York. Retains metal plaques indicating serial number 162816 and patent dates from 1886 to 1897. Front of case retains nearly its entire original scroll decal and paper instruction label. Originally would have operated on a nickel, but coin mechanism is no longer present. Fresh to the market in as-found condition from a Maine home. Motor functions but would benefit from lubrication. SIZE: 16″ w x 10″ d x 9″ h. CONDITION: Overall good with worn original finish, slight crack to wood corner on lid, and some lifting to bottom veneer.
