VERY FINE VICTORIAN LIVERPOOL MADE ENGLISH BOWIE KNIFE.

Classic London style Victorian Bowie measuring about 13-1/2″ overall with 9″ blade having 2″ clip. Marked “J HATCH / LATE / W WOOD”, on reverse “5 LORD ST / LIVERPOOL”. Most unusual Musical emblem of “G-Clef #” is etched about 2″ from ricasso. 2-1/8″ slightly beveled German silver oval cross guard. CONDITION: Fine to excellent. Blade retains most of its original luster and polish with few light nicks and sharpening. Stag grip slabs are excellent with good patina. German silver escutcheon matches color of German silver mounts on accompanying sheath which is sound and solid. 50167-2 JS (1,500-2,500) – Lot 1508
