Mid – late 19th century, American or Continental. Featuring high back settee, with upholstered seat, back and arms, having reeded legs, acanthus carved arm supports, fluted back posts and frieze carved crest rail with meandering roses and vines. Together with 4 similarly carved arm chairs. All with worn and stressed gilt surfaces, upholstered in floral silk damask. SIZE: Settee 55″ w. x 43-1/2″ t. Chairs 26″ w. x 39″ t. CONDITION: Uniform wear and losses to gilt surfaces commensurate with age, crude re-glue to arm on sofa, rosette losses to 1 chair, other minor nicks and chips, upholstery detached on backs of 3 chairs, several splits and minor tears. 9-96453 (400-600) – Lot 1507
