RARE 19TH CENTURY CANE GUN. This handsome cane gun fitted with a horn handle has an engraved silver band, just below the handle. Shaft of the cane is a graduated and tapered bbl. To load, unscrew at the silver band into which you would place a large caliber cartridge and then re-screw the horn back into place. Tip of the cane removes to reveal a tweezer-like apparatus, which is used to cock the cane gun at the top of the handle by pulling out. Once the gun is cocked, a simple flip of the thumb on the cocking mechanism will release the firing pin and thus shoot the gun. The shaft is painted dark brown enamel. We believe that it is probably French. SIZE: 36″ l. CONDITION: Few scratches of brown enamel paint missing on the bbl. Otherwise the cane is in fine condition and the mechanism is working. 20-8464 (1,750-2,750)
