*COLT SUPER .38 AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH EXTRA BARREL.SN 3888. Cal. .38 Super. Manufactured August 21, 1929, including extra bbl and bushing, bbl marked “Colt Super .38 Auto”. Orig bbl had no observable markings. Both bbls have in-the-white area visible through ejection port. Only one pin and link supplied. Right hand slide marked “Colt Super .38 Automatic” with Rampant Colt logo. Left side of slide has Colt’s patent information showing noticeable broken letters on the roll die. Wide front sight and wide notched rear sight. Wide spur hammer and milled checkered trigger with blued stock screws. Right receiver marked with SN and final assemblers mark (60) on the upper trigger guard bow. Left of trigger guard bow marked “Verified Proof” and “L” inspectors mark. Stocks are coarse full checkered walnut. Mainspring housing properly lacks lanyard loop. Top of receiver properly “S” marked. CONDITION: Colt marked bbl in as new condition, orig bbl shows moderate bushing wear and frosted bore. Upper left stock screw missing most of finish. Stocks are very good with some flattening of the checkered diamonds and a few missing diamonds, but overall are very pleasing. Slide missing finish on edges and many scratches overall. Receiver missing most of the finish on the front grip strap and partially missing on rear strap and mainspring housing, dings just ahead of SN on receiver. Take down scratch on left hand side. Two toned Super .38 mag with bottom marked “Colt Super .38 Auto” with some finish deterioration on bottom, mag sides are very good +.
