NEAT HENRY DERINGER POCKET PISTOL WITH CASE AND ACCESSORIES.SN NSN. Cal. 40. 2-1/2″ round bbl with flat top. Brass blade sight. Top of bbl marked “Deringer PhiladelA”. Steel wedge, silver mounts incl large silver shield behind bbl. Lock nicely scroll engraved and marked “Deringer PhiladelA”. Butt nicely checkered with silver teardrop. Trigger guard is nicely engraved and ends in a fancy pineapple finial. Housed in what appears to be its orig rosewood casing with small rectangular brass presentation plaque which is unmarked on top. Interior with red velvet and John Krider (retailer of Philadelphia label). Gorgeous little powder flask and ebony ramrod with brass tip are found in case. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Very good as found. Bbl has turned mostly brown, as has hammer and lock. Inlays are very good. Orig varnish is peeling and flaking in a couple of areas. Checkering is good. Case is excellent with a few minor handling marks and scratches. Label is somewhat deteriorated, interior fabric very good with minor soiling and staining. Flask is gorgeous with beautiful fire-blue on collar and great color and patina throughout. Ramrod very good. Simply an adorable little set. 49973-227 JSL102 (1,800-3,800) – Lot 1487
