O GAUGE BASSET LOWKE “FLYING SCOTSMAN” WITH ORIGINAL BOX.

The following five lots were consigned by a gentleman who has acquired and occasionally operated these trains for many years. Mostly his intent was the visual appeal and basically they were kept on shelves for his viewing pleasure. He had a penchant for Bassett Lowke and this is a selection from his private collection. A wonderful example in fabulous, all original pristine condition and only when examining the underside of the locomotive one can determine that this toy was actually used. The finish is vibrant and virtually shows no sign of wear and one can only suspect that after running the locomotive and tender it must have been placed back in its original box. Just a knock out example! The box contains what appears to be original tissue paper as well as the corrugated cardboard wrap. SIZE: 20-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Very fine plus to near mint to litho finish.
