GERMANIC BASKET HILT SWORD. 42-1/2″ single fuller blade with decorations simulating markings. There is also minor brass inlay at the hilt. CONDITION: Blade has been repaired about midway with a lap weld. Crosshatching on both sides of the blade blend in the repair. Front of the blade is deeply pitted and slightly smaller in width. Guard is hand forged, the wire wrapping on the hilt is probably replaced as is the simply decorated pommel. 4-46954 (1,500-2,200)
