HORSTMANN MODEL 1872 OFFICERS SABER. 32-1/4″ IRON PROOF blade is marked “W. H. HORSTMANN/& SONS /PHILADELPHIA” on the right side above the ricasso which has the impressed kings head makers mark. Blade is etched on both sides with stand of flags and vines. CONDITION: Blade is bright with light pitting and rust stains for 8″ near the hilt. 2-branch guard is slightly bent and has a very dark patina. Plated scabbard retains about 80% of the nickel with an area of flaking and surface rust near the throat. 4-46026 FS568 (400-700)
