CARVED WALNUT 2 DRAWER COMMODE.

Mid 18th century. Probably Italian. 2 drawer commode having serpentine front and sides, with well carved drawer fronts, and corner columns terminating in foliate and scroll carved feet. Drawer fronts banded with carved scrolling and centered with scroll and foliate cartouche. Base apron having similar scroll work and pierced decoration. Drawers now fitted with appropriate leaf and scroll brass hardware of a later date. SIZE: 52″ x 25″ x 34-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Overall very good with evidence of a small amount of old restoration, and retaining good old surface. 9-94835 (5,000-7,000) – Lot 1476
