COLLECTOR’S LOT OF 3 LATE RARE CARTRIDGE PISTOLS.SN 17862/18077/18097. Cal. 41/32/32. 1) 2-3/4″ octagon bbl. 6-shot fluted cylinder. Spur trigger. 2-pc walnut grips. Iron frame with loading gate mounted on right side. Frame is unmarked with makers name though identifiable as a Reid product by very lightly stamped name (nearly obliterated) on top of bbl and SN, which is stamped on butt. Front blade sight. 2) Reid New Model with 2-1/2″ round bbl with front blade sight marked on top “Reid’s New Model .32”. 6-shot cylinder. Low profile hammer, spur trigger, 2-pc walnut grips. SN stamped on butt along with old collection marking in white “K(?)M660”. Right side of frame marked “Reid’s shell extractor”. Unusual serrated cylinder pin. According to our consignor there are only 6 known examples of this extremely rare model known to exist. 3) Reid New Model with 2-1/2″ round bbl with reduced front blade sight marked on top “Reid’s New Model .32”. 6-shot cylinder. Low profile hammer, spur trigger, 2-pc walnut grips. SN stamped on butt. According to our consignor there are only 6 known examples of this extremely rare model known to exist. PROVENANCE: The Carmen Gianforte Collection. CONDITION: 1) Very good overall. Bbl with light pin-prick pitting. Retains a trace or two of nickel plating. Frame is very good, retaining approx 70% orig nickel finish. Cylinder retains traces of orig nickel. Grips rate very good with old repair near butt on right grip. Mechanics are very good. Bore is fair. 2) Excellent overall. Bbl retains 80-85% orig nickel finish. Cylinder retains approx 75% orig nickel finish, with some minor staining and light toning. Frame retains approx 75-80% orig nickel finish, one small loss at top of backstrap, perhaps from orig owners palm print. 3) Very good. Bbl retains 40-50% lightly flaked nickel plating, as does frame, cyl, and hammer. Minor corrosion of back-strap and butt.
