SN 4070/4399/8121. Cal. 22. 1) Standard early configuration frame marked on bottom left “MY FRIEND”. Bronze frame. Cylinder pin at front of frame. Hammer originally in the white, cylinder with blued finish. Safety at front of frame. Grip sides with very tasteful large open floral scroll. Front of trigger guard with SN, butt with knurling in oval motif. Top strap lightly engraved, recoil shield with light line engraving. Front frame with light sunburst line engraving. 2) Standard early configuration frame marked on bottom left “MY FRIEND”. Bronze frame. Cylinder pin at front of frame with matching SN. Hammer originally in the white, cylinder with blued finish. Safety at front of frame. Grip sides with sparse unusual open floral scroll. Front of trigger guard with SN, butt with knurling in oval motif. Top strap lightly floral engraved, recoil shield with light line engraving. Front frame with unusual holly leaf pattern. 3) Standard configuration frame marked on top left “MY FRIEND PATD DEC. 26, 1865”. Bronze frame. Cylinder pin at front of frame with matching SN. Hammer originally in the white, cylinder with blued finish. Safety at front of frame is missing. Grip sides with very tasteful large open floral scroll. Front of trigger guard with SN, butt with knurling in shield motif. Top strap lightly engraved in wave pattern, recoil shield with light line engraving. Front frame with light sunburst line engraving. PROVENANCE: The Carmen Gianforte Collection. CONDITION: All 3 in similar condition showing nice mustard patina on frames. Cylinders with minor pin-prick pitting. Overall very good. Engraving is crisp and clear. Gun no 1 and 3 mechanics very good, gun no 2 in need of minor adjustment.
