SCARCE PAIR OF REID “MY FRIEND” KNUCKLEDUSTERS JUST 6 SERIAL NUMBERS APART.

SN 11757/11763. Cal. 32. 1) Standard configuration frame marked on top left “MY FRIEND PATD DEC. 26, 1865”. Bronze frame with origianl cylinder pin. Hammer originally in the white. Cylinder with nickel finish. No safety. Grip sides with very tasteful open floral scroll. Front of trigger guard with SN, butt with knurling in shield motif. Top strap nicely wave engraved, recoil shield with light line engraving. Front frame with light sunburst line engraving. 2) As noted above, except with replaced cylinder pin. PROVENANCE: The Carmen Gianforte Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Both pistols with pleasing mustard brown bronze throughout. Cylinders, hammers, and triggers are very good, with minute oxidation (more so on no. 1 gun). Mechanics are crisp.
