EXCELLENT .22 CAL “MY FRIEND” REID KNUCKLEDUSTER.SN 13653. Cal. 22. Standard configuration frame marked on top left “MY FRIEND” PATENTED DECEMBER 26, 1865. Bronze frame. Cylinder pin with matching SN at front of frame. Hammer originally in the white. Cylinder with nickel finish. No safety. Grip sides with very tasteful floral scroll. Front of trigger guard with SN, butt with knurling in shield motif. Top strap nicely wave engraved and background shaded. Front frame with light sunburst line engraving. PROVENANCE: The Carmen Gianforte Collection. CONDITION: Excellent as found. Retains nearly all of what appears to be factory orig nickel plating throughout. Cylinder retains 85-90% orig nickel plated finish with a couple of areas of flaking at front and slight minor erosion in one small area at center. Top strap and front of frame retain approx 90%+ orig nickel plated finish. Butt retains more than 95% orig nickel plated finish with scattered handling marks throughout. Hammer is also very good. Engraving is sharp. Bore is very good with light wear. Mechanics are crisp. 49895-62 JSL57 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 1462
