SCARCE LARGE FRAME REID “MY FRIEND” KNUCKLEDUSTER IN .32 CAL.SN 10104. Cal. 32. Standard configuration frame marked on top left “MY FRIEND PATD DEC. 26, 1865”. Bronze frame. Cylinder pin with matching SN at front of frame. Hammer originally in the white. Cylinder with nickel finish. No safety. Grip sides with large open floral scroll. Front of trigger guard with SN, butt with knurling in shield motif. Top strap nicely wave engraved and background shaded, recoil shield with light line engraving. Front frame with light sunburst line engraving. PROVENANCE: The Carmen Gianforte Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bronze frame shows great mustard color and patina, though no nickel color is present. Cylinder retains a trace or two of blue with minute oxidation beginning to form. Hammer is also very good. Engraving is sharp. Mechanics are crisp though cyl pin threading has stripped. 49895-54 JSL60 (2,000-3,000) – Lot 1459
