*RARE WINCHESTER MODEL 70 BOLT ACTION CARBINE.

SN 41658. Cal 35 REM. Standard grade carbine with 20″ tapered rnd bbl, ramp front sight with hood & semi-buckhorn rear sight. Receiver ring is drilled & tapped for scope base while the rear receiver bridge is not tapped and never has been. Bottom of the bbl, under the stock is marked “41” and partially visible “35 REM”. Extractor is marked with an “R” on the inside, cartridge box is a #7 and the follower is a short standard. Bolt knob is solid & un-drilled. All the other parts of this carbine appear to have proper proof marks in the correct places with all Type I features. The stock is 1-pc American walnut with hand checkered forestock & oval grip with fixed sling swivels & checkered steel buttplate. The inside front swivel cut-out is the early oval style. Bbl channel is unmarked except for the number “181”. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus with matching numbered bolt. Overall retains about 99% crisp blue finish to the metal with bright bolt body. Stock is sound, near perfect retaining virtually all of its bright clear finish. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. Appears to be new & unfired. 51606-1 JRL (7,000-10,000) C&R – Lot 1455
