PRESENTATION SMITH & WESSON #2 ARMY REVOLVER. SN. 49(?). Cal. .32, 6″ ribbed bbl. Left sideplate is engraved “Presented To /Capt. R. B. Kellogg/by men of Co. A,/15th Iowa Regt.” A copy of some of the original military records regarding Kellogg accompany this lot. Kellogg was wounded January 14, 1865 and died of his wounds January 17 at Pocotaligo, SC. CONDITION: Gray-brown patina over all. Front sight has been filed down. Hinge screw has been replaced and the joint is slightly loose. Right grip is missing a slight chip at the rear and both sides have been lightly sanded. Copy of some original military records regarding Kellogg are included. FS764 4-47612 (2,000-3,000)
