LOT OF FOUR MARLIN MODEL 1872 SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVERS WITH WEXEL & DeGRESS GRIPS.SN 4. Cal. 30 RF.All four revolvers have identical Wexel & DeGress metal grips. 1) Cal 30 RF Short. SN 8625. Silver finish with 3″ round keyhole shape bbl and short fluted cyl. 2) Cal 30 RF Short. SN 5855. Silver & nickel finish with 3″ round keyhole shape bbl and short fluted cyl. 3) Cal 30 RF Long. SN 4. Nickel finish with 3″ round keyhole shape bbl and long fluted cyl. 4) Cal 30 RF Long. SN 501. Nickel finish with 3″ round keyhole shape bbl and long fluted cyl. PROVENANCE: The Dr. Robert G. Cox Estate Collection. CONDITION: 1) Fine, all matching. Overall retains about 95% orig silver with some minor losses on the bbl lug. Mechanics are fine. Grips retain about 85-90% orig finish. Strong dark bore. 2) Very good, all matching. Bbl and cyl are silver finished & show about 75-80% on the bbl with traces on the cyl. Frame & grips appear to be re-nickeled. Mechanics are fine. Dark bore with good rifling. 3) Very fine. Bbl retains about 95% orig nickel & the frame about 90%. Cyl shows about 60% orig nickel & the grips show light high point wear. Mechanics are fine. Dark bore with good rifling. 4) Fair to good. Overall retains about 80% finish on the bbl and 95% on the frame with about 70% on the cyl. Hinge screw replaced with a pin & grip screw replaced with an oversize machine screw. Mechanics are fine.
