LOT OF 5 AMERICAN DERRINGER POCKET PISTOLS.

SN 34973. 1) SHARPS MODEL 1A 4 BBL DERRINGER. Cal. 22 Short. SN 34979. Blue & silver finish with 2-1/2″ 4-bbl cluster & pressed gutta percha grips. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbls retain about 85% bright orig blue & the frame traces of silver. Grips are fine. Mechanics are fine. Bright shiny bores. 2) REMINGTON OVER/UNDER DERRINGER. Cal. 41 RF. SN L92400. Usual configuration with 3″ superposed bbls mounted with hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Fair, overall dark blue/brown patina with light pitting. Grips show heavy wear, welded hinge, good mechanics, dark bores. 3) SHARPS & HANKINS MODEL 4D 4-BBL DERRINGER. Cal. 32 RF long. SN 10330. Usual configuration with 3-1/2″ 4-bbl cluster, matching numbered to this pistol. Bbls have the Sharps & Hankins address in top gullet & Sharps patent on right side of frame. Mounted with walnut grips. Left side of frame has sliding latch. CONDITION: Fair. Bbls retain small amounts of blue in the gullets with the rest of the pistol a mottled silver/brown patina. Grips are fine with an old refinish. Mechanics are fine. Strong bores with moderate pitting. 3) AMERICAN ARMS SWIVEL BREECH DERRINGER. Cal. 41 RF Short. SN 231. Silver & blue with 2-5/8″ blued bbls, half moon front sights with company name & address on 1 flat & patent information on the other. Silver plated brass frame marked “41 CAL”. Mounted with 2-pc varnished walnut grips. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain about 50-60% blue, flaked, not worn to a medium patina. Frame retains about 99% orig silver & the hammer dark cased colors. Grips are sound showing light wear. Strong bright bores & scattered light pitting. 4) ENGRAVED SOUTHERNER SINGLE SHOT DERRINGER. Cal. 41 RF. SN 2942. Usual configuration, 2-1/2″ oct bbl, half moon front sight with standard markings, brass frame, nicley engraved, probably by L.D. Nimschke. Mounted with smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: Fair, no orig finish remains, show heavy wear with dark patina, worn grips, good mechanics, dark bore. PROVENANCE: The Dr. Robert G. Cox Estate Collection.
