Theodore B. Starr sterling silver cup and duster have cabbage leaf design sides with chased veins and swirling handles. Cup is further decorated with an applied cast copper beetle. Cup is marked on underside “Sterling 359” and engraved “D&S 27th June 1883”. Interior of bowl and duster have a gold wash. Duster is marked on side of its bowl near handle with a logo of “S” inside a circle with wings on each side “278 Sterling Theodore B. Starr”. Set comes with a presentation box with heavy velvet cover and silk lined interior. Box is marked “Joseph Seymour Sons & Co. Syracuse. N.Y.” Total weight is 256 grams. SIZE: Bowl is 3-5/8″ t x 5″ dia. Duster is 2″ dia & 5-1/4″ l to end of handle. CONDITION: Very good to excellent with some minor wear and matting to velvet. 5-67855 (1,000-1,200) – Lot 1438
