SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1851 WEST POINT CADET RIFLE. NSN. Cal. .58, 40″ bbl. Dated 1852 on the lockplate and bbl tang. A rack or issue number 62 is stamped on the rear bbl band. The West Point markings are on the middle band and top of the buttplate “C/28”. West Point cadets were issued M 51’s that were both rifled and sighted. CONDITION: Very fine condition. There is no cartouche on the left side of the stock. 4-47500 (3,000-4,000)
