Kyser & Rex had a unique ability to create interesting and amusing toys and banks. This particular example features several skaters including a couple that have lost their balance and have fallen down. It also depicts a man and woman who circle about and meet face to face with a gentleman who is giving a floral wreath to the fastest competitor. The coin housing further exemplifies the creativity of Kyser & Rex showing an embossed chandelier, a rack of skates, and a young lady being fitted for a pair of skates. A most interesting and highly desirable mechanical bank, this piece retains a fair amount of its original paint and is in working order. SIZE: 8-3/4″ w x 8-1/2″ d. CONDITION: As stated above, figure lying on his back is a replacement and some possible enhancement to red finish.
