SPRINGFIELD M1816 FLINTLOCK MUSKET WITH BAYONET. NSN. Cal. .69, 42″ bbl. Dated “1817” on lock and bbl. Standard markings on lockplate. “B 64” is stamped on top of the bbl. CONDITION: Metal has been lightly cleaned but light to moderate pitting covers the metal. Stock has been sanded. Cartouches are visible but not readable. There are some large gauges in the comb of the stock. Bayonet is of an earlier type without the reinforced bridge at the back and is not marked “US”. It is slightly small for this gun.
