TIFFANY STUDIOS BLOWN-OUT HANGING GLOBE.

Tiffany Studios hanging globe has wrapped bronze wire framework with light, creamy green glass blown-out between the wire framework. The globe also has a trapdoor in the bottom for changing the light bulb. The trapdoor is comprised of three light green turtleback tiles. The globe is completed with its original hardware and chain. There is no ceiling cap present. Unsigned. A similar example is pictured in Tiffany Lamps and Metalware by Alastair Duncan, pg 290, illustration number 135. SIZE: Approx. 13-1/2″ d x 19″ from top of hook to bottom of turtleback door, not including chain. CONDITION: There is an old solder repair to the hinge on the trapdoor and some corrosion to the leading on the turtlebacks, otherwise, very good to excellent. 51088-40 (15,000-25,000) – Lot 1423
