KILGORE “TAT” TRIMOTOR AIRPLANE.

A classic plane and one of the few planes ever manufactured by the Kilgore Toy Co., this is perhaps one of the more realistic of all toy planes produced by various toy companies. Its ribbed fuselage, as well as wing & tail section, emulated in miniature form the real life planes of the late 20s to early 30s. TAT, stands for Transcontinental Air Transport, which was later sold out in 1931 to TWA. This plane is enameled with a red fuselage, yellow wing, wheel covers and tail section. A great and highly desirable plane sought after by collectors of toy planes. SIZE: Approx wing span: 13-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Overall condition is very fine plus original finish. However, it appears by black light inspection that tail section appears to have had a professional repair on fuselage area. 1-14552 (1,500-2,500) – Lot 1420
