RARE WARD BURTON CARBINE. NSN. Cal. .50-70, 22″ bbl. Receiver is marked on the left side “U.S./SPRINGFIELD 1871” behind a large American eagle. Top of the breech block is marked “WARD.BURTON.PATENT./DEC.20.1859/FEB.21.1871” CONDITION: Metal has been lightly cleaned. Stock has a good “ESA” inspector cartouche that has been lightly cleaned. There is a chip missing under the sling ring bar. Action is fine. 4-47504 (4,000-5,000)
