RARE VINDEX AIRPLANE.

Perhaps the most elusive of the classic 1920s through 1930s cast iron toys were those manufactured by Vindex. This company made incredible farm toys, a few automobiles and a few airplanes. This particular toy is the Folker Airplane in very good, all original condition. Enameled in red with a dark green cabin and wing this toy still retains its original Vindex decal. Interesting enough most toys or in particular airplanes had separate cast wings and a left and right side. This toy has the upper cabin area, wing and tail section cast as one piece. The lower casting, which is painted red is a separate piece along with the motor head. The underside of the wing is marked “Vindex Toys, Belevidere, ILL.” Nickel plated wheels and a nickel plated propeller further add to the overall appeal. SIZE: Wingspan approx 8-1/4″.
