BREMEN AND MONOCOUPE CAST IRON AIRPLANES.The first is a small Bremen plane manufactured by Hubley in which the toy company duplicated the real plane in miniature form, right down to the markings on the fuselage as well as the ribbed cabin and tail fin. A separate casting with a pair of nickel plated pilots and passenger visible in the windows. The second plane being an Arcade Monocoupe. In the late 1920s the Central States Airplane Company created the first Monocoupe airplane. Due to proximity of both companies, it was a natural for the Arcade Toy company to copy in toy form this airplane. Made in two sizes this is the smallest of the two in basically a cast iron body with a stamped steel wing. Toy is painted in the trademark colors of orange and black with orange highlighting to tail and fin. Toy retains is original Arcade decal and nickel plated wheels. SIZE: 6-1/2″ and 8-1/2″ respectively.
