*◊ SCARCE MAUSER C96 FLATSIDE WITH MAUSER CARTRIDGE REAR SIGHT, MARKED CHARLES HELLIS, MATCHING STOCK.

SN 22965. Cal 7.63mm. Standard configuration Flatside with 5.5″ bbl, fixed front sight, and slip-in “Mauser Cartridge 300” rear sight. Long extractor, early safety and large ring hammer. Mauser address over chamber with full serial number on left chamber flat. Left side of bbl extension with Crown/Crown/U. Antler proof on right side. “CHARLES HELLIS” three line London address on left side of frame. Rear sight is numbered “786”. All other numbers, including the grips, are matched to the full serial number or last 3 digits. Serrated walnut grips. Lanyard ring present. Factory matching walnut stock whose lid is correctly notched for the large ring hammer. PROVENANCE: The Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin Collection, Germany. CONDITION: Approximately 80% orig blue with expected wear in front of the magazine housing, on each side of the frame and the front grip strap that has largely grayed. Comparable condition heat treated small parts and grips. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. VG – EXC stock with scattered handling dings but no discernible cracks whose condition is comparable to that of the gun.
