EARLY FULLY JOINTED STEIFF CAT WITH ID.

A rare and sweet example of Steiff’s mid-size 6-ways jointed cat. In this design, the head, limbs and tail are all individually jointed and fully posable. Cat is made from light grayish-tan mohair. Cat’s center seamed face is detailed with tiny green and black slit pupil eyes, a light pink hand-embroidered nose and mouth, and a few remaining clear monofilament whiskers. Cat has her tiny trailing “F” button as her Steiff ID. Fully jointed cats appeared in the Steiff line from 1904-1927 in sizes ranging from 17 to 42 cm. SIZE: 5-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine collection. CONDITION: As noted. With general playwear and light mohair thinning. Very small abrasion on side. Tail joint working but stiff.
