LARGE AND UTTERLY ADORABLE FARNELL TEDDY BEAR.

A delightful English Teddy bear with a distinctive and classic “Winnie the Pooh” look to him, similar to the original E.H. Shepard drawings of the same. He was most likely produced in the 1928-1935 time frame. This big boy is 5-ways jointed and made from long and lovely thick blonde mohair which has mellowed gently over time. He has chubby proportions and limbs. His paw pads are made from fabric and are all original. Each paw has five black hand embroidered claws on it. Ted’s face is detailed with a pronounced clipped muzzle, black hand-embroidered nose and mouth and large felt backed brown and black glass pupil eyes. This delightful example comes with an evaluation certificate by the late great Teddy bear expert Ken Yenke. Rare to find in this large size. SIZE: 26″ h. PROVENANCE: A fine Southern collection. CONDITION: Paw pads slightly dusty with two small holes in one foot. Very nice mohair coverage with only very minor thinning, especially on back. A few loose nose stitches. Otherwise very good and all original. 9-25043 (1,000-2,000) – Lot 1390
