TWO DELIGHTFUL AND EARLY STEIFF DOGS.

This canine-centric lot consists of a Dachshund on wheels and a Tige Bulldog. The Dachshund is standing, unjointed, and made from rust-brown colored felt. He has simple single thick felt ears, black shoebutton eyes, and a black embroidered nose and mouth. His leather collar and bell appear original. He rides upon four eccentric wooden wheels. His IDs have been lost to time. This item was produced in 8cm and 12cm from 1917-1931 overall. Tige is 5-ways jointed and made from rust-brown colored short pile plush. His feet and chest are made from mohair, and his ears are lined in felt. His face comes to life with black shoebutton eyes, a black embroidered nose and mouth, and black painted highlights. His tail has been lost to time. Tige retains his trailing “F” button as his Steiff ID. This Tige was produced in 17, 22, 28, 35, and 43 cm from 1906-1917 overall. SIZE: 5″ h and 8″ h respectively. PROVENANCE: A fine New England collection. CONDITION: As noted. Dachshund with a few minor holes, light wear, and dust. Tige with two tears in fabric in chest area and light dust.
