CHARMING VINTAGE STEIFF DEER FAMILY OF FIVE.

A delightful collection of five vintage family deer which would make a marvelous holiday display. All are standing, unjointed, and have black button eyes and black hand embroidered noses and mouths. The grouping includes an early postwar wool plush roebuck, doe, and two fawns and a prewar mohair and velvet fawn. The roebuck has felt antlers, a working squeaker, and a US Zone tag and block capital letter Steiff button. The doe has a working squeaker, her US Zone tag, and her raised script button. The larger postwar fawn has her US Zone tag and block capital letter Steiff button, while the smaller postwar fawn has her US Zone tag. The prewar fawn’s IDs have been lost to time. The wool plush deer were all produced between 1949-1953 and the prewar fawn was made from 1934-1943 overall. SIZE: Largest is 12″ h; smallest is 7″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine collection.
