*EXCEPTIONAL ENGRAVED AND GOLD EMBELLISHED GERMAN WEATHERBY MARK V.

SN P70188. Cal. 270 WBY. Mark V Deluxe with skip line checkering. 24″ bbl with “J.P. Sauer & Sohn” markings at bottom of bbl with extensive engraving covering most all receiver, bbl, bolt cocking assembly, rings and bases, and floorplate. Engraving is done in a Germanic vine and scroll and is well executed. It is signed by the engraver on the bottom in script “CEC” and dated “89”. As well as being engraved, there is a heavy gold inlay on floorplate of a bugling elk. Mounted in Cone-trol split rings and bases. Is a Weatherby premiere variable 3-9 scope that appears to be period to the manufacture of the rifle. Traditional high polish Weatherby highly figured walnut stock with Weatherby marked white line recoil pad. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. Shows very little use with some very minor handling marks in the stock finish. Metal is excellent plus with no evidence of finish loss. Bore and mechanics are bright and crisp.
