*FINE HOLLAND & HOLLAND .375 MAGNUM FLANGED “NO 3 (DOMINION)” HAMMERLESS EJECTOR DOUBLE RIFLE WITH CASE, SCOPE, AND ACCESSORIES.

SN 35012. (ca 1936) Cal. .375 Flanged magnum. 25″ Chopper lump bbls are fitted with typical H&H type quarter rib holding one standing/ one folding leaf express rear sight. Rib is also mounted with H&H type QD scope mount. Matching front ramp holds silver bead with flip-up porcelain night bead. Muzzles are fitted with modern type regulating blocks. Caliber is engraved on mid rib. Tops of bbls have makers name and New Bond Street address. Bbl flats are stamped with London nitro proofs for .375 and 54 grains cordite, and 300 grain bullet. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with SNs. A narrow sling loop is soldered to bottom rib. Round bar “Dominion” back lock action features top tang which extends over comb, as well as automatic safety (SAFE inlaid in gold), hidden third fastener, bushed strikers, and dbl triggers (front checkered). Action and locks are engraved with 30 – 40% coverage of sprays of well cut scroll around rose bouquets. “Holland & Holland” is on each lockplate. Bottom of action is engraved with caliber. Blued trigger guard has SN on tang which extends to case hardened steel grip cap with trap. Well streaked and lightly figured European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-7/8″ over Silver type pad. Stock features classic point pattern checkering at grip, and individual gold initials “GL” are inlet into top of comb. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Drop at heel: approx 2-15/16″, drop at comb: approx 1-13/16″. Neutral cast. Weight without scope: 9 lbs. 14 oz. LOP: 14-7/8″. Carl Zeiss 4X scope with 3 post reticle, is in H&H type rings, front ring engraved “Holland & Holland 35012”. What is possibly orig green canvas leather trimmed case is lined in burgundy cloth, and has large paper H&H label in lid. Case contains a rosewood handled turnscrew, and striker key with checkered horn handle that fits this rifle. CONDITION: Excellent as partially refinished. Bbls retain nearly all of a London quality re-black, details lightly softened. Action retains 20 – 30% orig case hardening color, the balance nicely silvered. Lockplates retain approx 90% of their color. There is some pitting on right lockplate. Stocks retain nearly all of a nicely done oil finish. A large crest plate has been removed from toe line, hole plugged, and there is a vacant hole for sling eye. Checkering is somewhat worn, and does not appear to have been re-cut. Bores are fine, showing considerable erosion to rifling at throats, but should still shoot well. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Scope is excellent, optically clear. Case is fine, considerably soiled and rubbed. Interior cloth is very good with rubs, stains, and compressions. Orig handle is good. Accessories are fine.
