CASED COLT ROOT REVOLVER. SN 6458, all matching. Cal. .31 4-1/2″ round bbl, fluted cylinder. In American mahogany case with “E. PLURIBUS UNUM” flask, iron 2-cavity mold and Winchester cap tin. CONDITION: 85% blue on cylinder with sharp markings, 30% elsewhere. Strong case hardening colors on top of hammer, turning dark on the lever. Mechanically tight. Flask retains about 90% of the original brown finish. Bullet mold has light pitting on the down side. Case has been repaired on one end and has minor scratches and dents on the top.
