*RARE REMINGTON MODEL 1889 GRADE 5 HAMMER GUN.

SN 220250. 12 Ga. 30″ bbls. 2-5/8″ chambers. Choked: SKEET/MOD. Full length matted rib with steel front bead marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO ILION NY USA” with dolls head extension. Double triggers, extractors, no safety. Full pistol grip stock with 14-3/16″ LOP over Remington Arms Co checkered and monogrammed buttplate. Splinter forend with horn teardrop tip. Buttstock with standard 2-point checkering. Forend with approx 75% checkering coverage. Receiver engraved with well cut scroll engraving on lockplate and bottom of frame. Bbl bolsters, top of frame and top lever all lightly engraved with floral and geometric designed. Water table marked with SN and “5” indicating this is a Grade 5 gun. Hammers also lightly scroll engraved with geometric designs on top. Weight: 7 lb 4 oz. PROVENANCE: The Estate of B.E. “Andy” Anderson. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain nearly all of their deep black dark contrast Damascus pattern. Receiver retains approx 60% orig case color which is bold and vivid on lockplate and on top and toned at bottom of frame and on trigger guard and forearm iron. Buttstock and forearm retain approx 95% of their orig hand rubbed varnish with various light dents and scratches and one small gouge on bottom of stock. Mechanics are excellent. Bores are bright and shiny with scattered pitting in right tube, light frosting in left.
