Handel table lamp has dome shaped shade with reverse painted “Desert Oasis” scene depicting an Arab seated on the ground next to his camel unearthing a treasure chest from the sand with palm trees in the background. All against a shaded salmon colored sky. Treasure chest is inscribed “Handel”. Exterior of shade is finished in chipped ice. Signed on inside rim “Handel 6437”. Shade rests on a bulbous original Handel base with stylized leaf and flower design and a vertically ribbed riser supporting a three socket cluster and square cut-out heat cap with rich brown finish. Signed on underside with impressed block letters “Handel”. SIZE: Shade 18″ dia. Lamp 25″ t. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent. Base is very good with some minor wear and discoloration to finish. Re-wired with contemporary plastic cord. 51088-2 (8,000-12,000) – Lot 1357
