Early 19th century, New England. Pine, original Spanish Brown paint with dry, crusty surface. Good form with vigorously scalloped sides, pierced hanging holes for rope hanger (now absent), bootjack end feet adjoining mortise shelves, suitable for hanging or standing. Thin stock construction.
