SN 269201/274162. 1) Cal. 44 WCF. 4 3/4 bbl. Blue and case colored finish. Checkered hard rubber grips with Colt medallions. Roll die bbl marked Colt Frontier Six Shooter. All markings standard for this model. SN matches on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. 2) Cal. 38 WCF. 5 1/2″ bbl. Blue finish. Checkered hard rubber grips with Colt medallions. All markings standard for this model. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Grips have no. 35606 on right side and 4172 on left side. PROVENANCE: The Dr. Robert G. Cox Estate Collection. CONDITION: 1) Good. Bbl retains about 10% blue in protected area around the front sight and breech end of bbl. Front sight is full-sized. Two line bbl address is sharp. Roll die mark is sharp. Ejector rod housing is gray-brown patina. Ejector rod head has been replaced. Ejector rod screw is stripped. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Frame shows traces of case color with the balance turning a silver-gray patina. Screws are very good. Hammer and trigger are also a gray-brown patina. Cylinder is a gray-brown patina with dark chambers. Backstrap and trigger guard are a smooth gray-brown patina with some traces of blue around trigger guard bow. All serial numbers match. Colt patent date and Rampant Colt on left side of frame is sharp. Grips are well worn and slightly browned out with a small chip out of toe of right grip. Grips are numbered to gun. Grip locating pin is missing. Action will not stay on half-cock notch. 2) Good. Revolver has a silver-gray finish overall with slight traces of case color on frame. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight is full-sized. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Frame is smooth with sharp patent mark and Rampant Colt. Cylinder is a smooth gray-brown patina with staining overall. Chambers are dark. Hammer and trigger are smooth gray-brown patina. Screws are good. Grips are good. Checkering is worn smooth with visible Colt medallions. Action works well.
