CASED COLT ROOT 1ST MODEL REVOLVER. SN 403, all matching. Cal. 28. 3-1/2″ oct. bbl and oct. loading lever. In a period mahogany case with proper bullet mold, “E. PLURIBUS UNUM”, and Eley cap tin. CONDITION: Strong traces of blue on the frame, mostly gray patina with light to moderate pitting at the muzzle. Cylinder scene is sharp. Grip has numerous small dents and scratches but retains 90% of the varnish. The case lid has been cracked and repaired at least twice, the bottom has three cracks, the green interior is dirty and scuffed, the flask retains about 80% of the brown finish with two small dents towards the top. 4-46837 FS164 (3,000-3,500)
